Loved our visit here. In the run up to booking I had asked a few questions online (about vegetarian options etc) and the response I got was friendly and polite.

My wife didn’t know about the cable car/funicular thing up to the restaurant so it was a lovely surprise to be able to show her. I tried to distract her so she didn’t see the sign for it, meaning that she thought we were waiting outside a normal lift.

The cable car was amazing- actually after our meal we had a couple of extra rides in it because we enjoyed it so much. It helps to turn a visit to this restaurant into a real experience. If you look to your left on the way up, near the top you can see some of the sights of Prague, including the church in the old square.

Upon arrival at the restaurant we got a lovely greeting- once I mentioned the reservation they knew exactly who we were, my special request etc. They found us a lovely table outside in the sunshine. Right near us was a big bush with flowers and I have never seen so many butterflies while eating a meal, it was amazing.

Both the food and drink were lovely and the lunch deal was brilliant value. We particularly enjoyed the little touches- the high-quality olive oil to enjoy with the bread, the ‚coffee sugar‘ (some sort of coffee-sugar mix that I have never tried before but was addictive) to enjoy with my espresso, the quality of the wines served by the glass, the smiles of the staff and various Tuscan flavours and ingredients that were unfamiliar to us.

This is a really classy place but one which wears its class lightly and tries to make all guests feel welcome and valued. I would recommend it as a special place for any visitor to, or resident of, Prague.

Big thanks to the staff!
